Well we got some bad news today. It was a matter of time but it looks like Apple doesn’t like applications like ScreenSplitr. They now prohibits taking screenshots while in the background and crashes ScreenSplitr when it tries to do so:

ScreenSplitr[158:307] *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception ‘NSGenericException’, reason: ‘Cannot call UICreateScreenImage() while app is in the background.’

So right now, until we find a workaround, we can only recommend you to switch to Display Recorder which does work on iOS 4.1. You can find more info at http://rpetri.ch/cydia/displayrecorder/.

UPDATE: We have found a workaround and ScreenSplitr 2.2 was pushed with the fix.

ScreenSplitr 2.1 was released to Cydia a couple days ago with a faster framerate over USB and better iPad support.
